Space SME
A technology company entering the European space sector faced a common but critical problem: exceptional engineering capabilities combined with almost no understanding of how European strategic ecosystems function.
Challenge
The company initially approached Europe as a purely technical market, believing innovation alone would open doors.
What MetaKnowledge Did
MetaKnowledge introduced a completely different perspective by positioning the company within the broader narrative of European strategic autonomy, resilience, and industrial competitiveness.

Through strategic alignment with EU priorities and carefully selected ecosystem introductions, the company gained access to high-level industrial collaborations and future funding pathways that had previously seemed inaccessible. What changed was not the technology itself, but the perception of the company as a strategically relevant European actor rather than simply another engineering supplier.
Research Laboratory
A biomedical research laboratory in UK specializing in advanced biomedical engineering and emerging health technologies had become increasingly frustrated by its inability to translate scientific excellence into European funding success.
Challenge
The PI and Its researchers consistently produced high-impact publications, innovative medical technologies, and cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, yet proposal after proposal failed during evaluation because the impact pathways lacked clarity, the exploitation strategy remained academically oriented, and the consortium positioning was not sufficiently aligned with European healthcare priorities.
What MetaKnowledge Did
MetaKnowledge worked closely with the laboratory PI to redefine how the institution approached European funding opportunities. Rather than focusing exclusively on technical and scientific merit, the consultancy reshaped the proposals around clinical relevance, healthcare system integration, measurable societal impact, stakeholder engagement, and long-term European value creation. The laboratory’s scientific narrative was strategically repositioned to align with EU priorities in digital health, medical innovation, resilience of healthcare systems, and next-generation biomedical technologies.
Impact
After six months the laboratory earned it's first proposal, while over the following funding cycles, the laboratory secured multiple successful participations, significantly increased its proposal success rate, and evolved from a peripheral academic contributor into a recognized work-package leader within major European biomedical and health innovation collaborations.
Consortium
An already formed consortium involving 14 partners from six countries was on the verge of collapse only weeks before the submission of a major Horizon Europe proposal.
Challenge
The technical work packages lacked coherence, partner responsibilities overlapped, governance structures were weak, and the proposal narrative felt fragmented and contradictory.
What MetaKnowledge Did
MetaKnowledge was brought in under extreme time pressure to salvage the submission. Through intensive restructuring, the consultancy unified the scientific narrative, aligned technical objectives with expected outcomes, redesigned the governance model, and introduced evaluator-style consistency across all proposal sections
Impact
The consortium not only submitted successfully but ultimately secured more than €6 million in funding. Several partners later admitted that without this intervention, the proposal would almost certainly have failed. What MetaKnowledge delivered was not editing support, but strategic architecture capable of transforming complexity into a coherent European vision.
